2. Feb 21,  · Under the Iron Sea is Keane's only real foray into darker themes and somewhat experimental instrumentation. Their upbeat piano-driven style is still present here, but with a heavy moodiness to it. The album starts with the dark, dreamy "Atlantic" which sets a cohesive mood for the next five songs, all of which are excellent and fit together nicely/5(90).

3. 2 days ago · Hamburg Song – This song, which is an organ ballad, is a reflection on a desire for friendship and the feeling that one’s generosity is taken advantage of because one is diffident and relatively undemanding. It is a song full of longing and suffering, and is a beautiful song despite its deep mood of sadness/5().

4. The song was ostensibly written about the Iraq War -- specifically Britian's involvement -- and it's a move forward in both lyrical content and musical delivery. Keane should be applauded for going after a different sound; there's no harm in that, even though some die-hard fans might rush to judge Under the Iron Sea as sounding a bit too much 8/
